We at Reveillee Oaks, feel it is our responsibility as a Breeder to keep all of our puppies until we can can do preliminary health clearances on them, such as x-rays to screen for hip and elbow dysphasia and a cardiac ultra-sound or echo to screen for congenital heart disease. These preliminary screenings are done when puppies are 12-months of age. At this time decisions will be made to spay or neuter. As well, all puppies will have a surgical gastropexy done to prevent a life threating twist of the stomach, called gastic torsion and some will be placed in approved homes. While they are in our care, we maintain our standards of diet & exercise for this fast growing breed. We do this in an effort to give each puppy success in development of bone and structure. This breed, like many others, has a number of health issues. We feel it is our responsibility as a breeder to know what we have produced genetically.
